Environment

As the author of the Wild Rice Monitoring Handbook and Wild Rice Monitoring Field Guide, Tonya Kjerland and her team offer technical assistance in natural resources and environmental health. We offer broad services common across communities and services tailored to unique cultural contexts. Our blend of mainstream environmental skills with Indigenized approaches aims to support local and Tribal governments in growth and development.

Past projects:

  • Data wrangling: Getting historic data into a manageable format, which may include imports into databases (i.e., AWQMS)

  • Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) for water quality, wild rice monitoring, restoration projects, and other types of projects.

  • Tribal and Public health grant writing and reporting that incorporate environmental components, such as land-based healing, culture as prevention, language revitalization, youth camps, intergenerational learning, etc.
